Why Consider the Portland Custom Range Hood for Your Kitchen?

The appeal of the Portland Custom Range Hood begins with terraced crown and projecting apron, but the real advantage is how much of the hood you can shape around your kitchen. Order free sample tiles to compare finishes in your own lighting, then work one-on-one with bloom range hoods’ master designer on the final direction. Bloom also offers secure online ordering with a U.S.-based company and free shipping to the 48 continental U.S. states.

The Portland Custom Range Hood: Built Around Terraced Crown and Projecting Apron

The Portland Custom Range Hood gets its personality from terraced crown and projecting apron. Under the surface, 16-gauge copper, brass or 304 stainless steel construction brings the strength needed above a working range. Size the hood around your layout, choose the finish and decorative details, then pair it with ventilation suited to your cooking setup.

  • A Profile with Personality: The Portland gets its visual character from terraced crown and projecting apron, not from a generic stock shell.
  • Sized for the Space: Adjust the key dimensions so the hood relates cleanly to the range and surrounding cabinetry.
  • Built from Substantial Metal: Choose 16-gauge copper, brass or 304 stainless steel to set the material direction for the hood.
  • Airflow for the Way You Cook: Pair the hood with a ventilation option suited to your cooking setup.
  • Long-Term Structural Coverage: Every hood includes bloom range hoods’ lifetime structural guarantee.

Custom Metal Range Hood Fit with Everyday Airflow in Mind

A custom hood should look intentional from every angle. Bloom sizes the Portland around the range, cabinetry and ceiling conditions, then matches the ventilation options to your cooking setup. Precision TIG-welded construction keeps the body strong and the seams clean without adding visual clutter.

  • Built for Daily Use: Heavy-gauge metal and TIG-welded construction create a solid structure.
  • Proportions You Control: Adjust width, depth and height to fit the visual scale of the room.
  • Mounting Style Choices: Coordinate the hood with the installation conditions in your kitchen.
  • Configurable Ventilation: Select airflow performance around the range and cooking routine.
  • Protective Finish Options: Available surface protection helps preserve the selected finish.

Finish the Portland Custom Range Hood Your Way

This is where the Portland gets personal. Choose from Bloom’s available color, texture and material options and decide how much contrast you want between the main body and decorative details. Free sample tiles let you compare options beside the actual materials in your kitchen before making the final call.

Cabinet color, counters, hardware and lighting all change how the Portland finish reads. Looking at samples in the actual space can save a lot of second-guessing.

Make a Custom Metal Range Hood Feel Right at Home, For Everyday Cooking

Kitchen style often comes down to how the details are handled. On the Portland, terraced crown and projecting apron provides the base. Warmer finishes can lean classic, while simple accents and a tighter palette can move the same profile in a more modern direction.

Custom dimensions give the Portland another design lever. Taller, wider or more compact proportions can change the visual weight before the finish even enters the conversation.

Make the Portland Custom Range Hood Yours with bloom

Bring Bloom your kitchen, your measurements and the direction you have in mind. The master designer will help shape the Portland Custom Range Hood around the space, with direct guidance on size, finish, accents and ventilation.

From the big proportions down to the smaller accent choices, each Portland decision gives the finished hood a clearer connection to your kitchen.

Ventilation Systems

Find Your Perfect Exhaust System

We believe the ventilation system behind your beautiful hood should work as hard as it looks good. Here's how to find your perfect match:

Motor Fan In-Hood Exhaust System

The culinary equivalent of having everything you need right at your fingertips.

  • Motor(s) nestled inside your copper hood
  • Complete with lights, switches, and stainless steel baffle filters
  • 304-grade stainless steel liner (the gold standard of kitchen durability)
  • Powered by 120 volts 60hz, like a well-oiled kitchen machine
  • Features reusable stainless steel baffle filters (we believe in sustainability almost as much as style)
  • Motor(s) run at approximately 7 sones - the soundtrack to your cooking adventure

Motor Fan In-Attic Exhaust System

For when you want all the power without stealing the spotlight. This method is preferred but requires accessible attic space directly above the kitchen.

  • Motor tucked discreetly in your attic, like a kitchen ninja
  • Still equipped with all the essentials: lights, switches, and stainless steel baffle filters
  • Premium 304 grade stainless steel liner at 120 volts 60hz
  • Reusable stainless steel filters for easy maintenance
  • Virtually silent operation in your kitchen - quieter than a Wisconsin lake at dawn
  • Perfect for open-concept kitchens where conversation flows as freely as your creativity

Liner Only (No Motor)

For the kitchen maestros who march to their own beat.

  • Requires purchasing a separate External Blower System
  • Motor(s) positioned outside your structure
  • Includes the essentials: lights, switches, and stainless steel baffle filters
  • Premium 304 grade stainless steel liner at 120 volts 60hz
  • Equipped with reusable stainless steel filters
  • Ideal for unique installations or specific ventilation requirements

Recirculating Systems

When your kitchen's layout plays hard to get with outside venting options.

  • Perfect solution when venting to the outside isn't in the cards
  • Equipped with specialized charcoal filters to trap cooking odors and grease
  • Limited to 390 CFM and up to 48" in width (even heroes have their boundaries)
  • Features clever louvers built into the hood for air to escape back into your kitchen
  • Ideal for apartments, condos, or older homes where structural limitations make external venting challenging
  • All the style with a practical twist for challenging spaces

How To Measure Infograph

Your Copper Hood

How To Measure

Watch our video tutorial for help selecting the proper dimensions for your copper hood. You'll need to measure the width of your cooktop and the height of your ceiling from the kitchen floor. Wall-mounted hoods can be as wide as your cooktop; however, island mounted hoods should be at least 6 inches wider than the cooktop. The bottom of the hood should be between 30-36" above your cooktop. Once the dimensions of the hood are determined, you can then select a ventilation system. We offer in-hood and in-attic ventilation systems. Once you select a ventilation system that will work for your kitchen space, you can then choose the color and texture of the copper hood. Don't forget to personalize your hood with custom straps, rivets and apron patterns.
